Job Summary:
As an Operations Intern, you will support the day-to-day activities of the Operations team while gaining hands-on exposure to private markets portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, data management, and process improvement initiatives.
You will work closely with our Operations & Reporting Analyst and contribute to a variety of reporting, analytical, and operational projects for institutional investors across private equity, infrastructure, private credit, and real estate.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop strong analytical, reporting, and data management skills while gaining exposure to leading institutional investors and investment managers globally. As you grow within the role, you will progressively contribute to process automation, reporting enhancements, and strategic operational projects.
Here is a non-exclusive list of tasks that you will perform:
- Support the preparation and quality control of quarterly client reports.
- Assist with performance calculations, benchmarking, and portfolio analytics.
- Maintain and enhance reporting databases, templates, and supporting datasets.
- Support performance validation and reconciliation of portfolio data across various systems.
- Monitor and track fund reporting, NAVs, cash flows, and other key portfolio data.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly portfolio monitoring materials, including NAV analyses, market updates, and investment review presentations.
- Download, organize, and maintain fund documentation and internal databases.
- Assist with manager data requests, cash flow projections, TER calculations, and other analytical exercises.
- Support the development and maintenance of InPact’s internal data architecture and reporting tools.
- Assist with background checks and due diligence exercises.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives.
Requirements:
The candidate we are looking for must be:
- enthusiastic about private market investments that contribute positively to society and the environment;
- analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large datasets;
- technically-minded, with a structured and methodical approach to problem solving;
- curious and eager to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation;
- meticulous and thorough, striving for accountability and excellence in execution and setting her/himself high standards;
- able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team;
- proficient in Microsoft Excel (a must), Word, and PowerPoint. Power BI is a plus;
- high learning agility and open mindset for change and versatility;
- fluent in written and spoken English (native language or C1 level), French being a plus;
- hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or Economics; a Master’s degree is a plus;
- work experience within the financial services operations area is a plus;
- Swiss resident (valid work permit).
